The Methodist Women’s bazaar is always held the Saturday before Thanksgiving from 9AM to 2PM in Asbury Hall and is the major fundraiser of the year. The ladies are busy all summer long picking berries for their fruit pies consisting of blueberry, blackberry, strawberry-rhubarb, apple, apple cranberry, and pumpkin. Pies are available freshly baked or frozen. There are also pumpkin rolls, sweet rolls, sticking buns, peanut brittle, hard tack, homemade noodles, hot dog sauce (recipe from the former Twin Springs Restaurant), white and rye bread, homemade vegetable soup and chicken rivoli soup, plus a church-wide bake sale table!
Our cookie walk is becoming very popular with women who don’t have time to bake for the holidays. The cookie walk features 16 varieties of cookies that one may choose any amount of any kind and pay by the pound. We are usually sold out by 11AM so don’t wait too long for this one!
And finally a luncheon is served throughout the day with homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts. We do ALL of this to support the various missions here in this country and around the world as we are committed in serving. We have a pre-order slip with all of our items (except the cookies) listed if you would like to guarantee what you wish to purchase. Please contact the church office for more information.
